Choose where Lumnis should look for people and why someone should appear in the results.

The Persona defines who qualifies. The search type defines where Lumnis looks and why a person appears in the results.

Available search types

Search typeBest whenWhy someone appears
High IntentYou want recent topic activityRecent posts or interactions about a relevant topic
Job SignalHiring activity is connected to your problemA company is hiring for relevant roles, then Lumnis finds the people responsible
CompetitorCompetitor attention may show buying interestInteractions with competitors' LinkedIn posts
Competitor RepsYou want to see who competitor sellers may be reachingActivity around your competitors' sales representatives
Influencer EngagementTrusted experts attract your marketQualified people interacting with selected experts
General SearchProfile and company fit matter more than activityLinkedIn profiles that match the Persona
Sales NavigatorYou already have a Sales Navigator search or lead listPeople from that list, ranked against your Persona
LookalikesYou want people who act like a researched audienceSimilar activity around the same posts and topics

Use High Intent when timing matters. A strong match can appear because their recent public activity connects them to the problem or category.

Use General Search when the profile is the primary source of truth. This is useful when building a list by function, seniority, location, and company, even if every person has not posted recently.

Searches based on specific activity

Job Signal starts with a hiring pattern. Competitor starts with people engaging with competitor content. Competitor Reps inverts that view to look at the audiences around competitor sellers. Influencer Engagement starts from trusted voices rather than vendor content.

These searches work only when the starting source is relevant to your market. A precise Persona cannot make an unrelated competitor, hiring theme, or expert useful.

Imported and existing lists

Use Sales Navigator when you already have a list there and want Lumnis to check it against your Persona and supporting activity. Projects also let you add people from LinkedIn profiles or a CSV file.

Choosing search size

Available search sizes are 50, 100, 200, 500, and 1,000. Larger is not always better. Start with enough people to test the Persona and search type. Increase the size after the results are consistently useful.
